Chocolate Chip Cookie Madness
It’s March, which means it’s time for some fun competition. Instead of heading to the basketball court, the Daybake Baking Club created a cookie competition, a chocolate chip cookie competition to be exact. There were fourteen entries and three rounds of tasting. In other words, there were so many cookies! The last round included four finalists, Maggie, Hayley, Hayley, and Stephanie and while the competition was close, Stephanie was the proud winner of the GOLDEN SPATULA. Ironically, Stephanie had never made chocolate chip cookies from scratch before and her dog ate the first batch, so she had to quickly make a new one before the event. Nevertheless, she persisted.
This is the recipe Stephanie used to create her award-winning cookie. Although, Stephanie had a few substitutions. She used half semi-sweet and half milk chocolate chips, added an extra 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla, and was very liberal with the salt sprinkles, which balanced out the chocolate really well.
In the end, we had a lot of fun getting together and making ourselves a little bit sick. Next year, we may have to make fewer cookies…or maybe not!
